ROYAL NEWS: The Olivier Award nominated smash hit GIRL POWER musical
SIX is preparing to relaunch its Broadway run this Fall. We are so happy to announce that the production’s original American QUEENS are all set to return. Under the co-direction of
Lucy Moss and
Jamie Armitage, the cast will consist of……
Adrianna Hicks as “Catherine of Aragon”,
Andrea Macasaet as “Anne Boleyn”,
Abby Mueller as “Jane Seymour”,
Brittney Mack as “Anna of Cleves”,
Samantha Pauly as “Katherine Howard”,
and
Anna Uzele as “Catherine Paar”.
The cast will include its 3 original alternate QUEENS themselves consisting of….
Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert,
Courtney Mack,
and
Mallory Maedke.
THAT’S NOT ALL: The Broadway company added one more additional thrown-in ALTERNATE QUEEN joining just in time for the show’s return….. The company will welcome newcomer Keirsten Hodgens.
At the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, SIX originally completed all of its initial previews on Broadway. It was slated to open on March 12th, 2020 which the plugged was pulled on it due to that very same day Live Theater went abruptly shutdown. However, the wait is almost over.
Get ready to GET DOWN with the EX-WIVES of King Henry VIII as SIX returns to Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre this Fall. The show will play a brief additional set of preview performances beginning September 17th, 2021 and will FINALLY have its long awaited Broadway Opening Night on October 3rd, 2021.

FIRST LOOK: The 2nd teaser trailer has been released for
Steven Speilberg‘s highly anticipated movie remake of the legendary musical
West Side Story. It features unbelievable promising highlighted moments in the new film plus an extended snippet of Oscar winning legend
Rita Moreno (“Anita” from the original 1961 film and “Valentina” in this new film) performing her rendition of the musical’s classic love theme SOMEWHERE.
As previously mentioned, this new film adaptation is led by……
Tony winner David Alvarez as “Bernardo”,
Tony nominee Mike Faist as “Riff”,
Golden Globe nominee Corey Stoll as “Lieutenant Schrank”,
Tony nominee Brian D’Arcy James as “Officer Krupke”,

In addition, New York Broadway Tours very own Michael is also part of it. In the film, he makes a cameo during the iconic DANCE IN THE GYM sequence.

BREAKING NEWS: Earlier this year, the legendary
Liza Minelli celebrated her 75th Birthday. In celebration of this huge milestone,
PBS‘ local New York station
Thirteen WNET will be airing the entertainer’s signature Emmy Award winning 1972 concert film LIZA WITH A “Z”. You can expect this iconic special to air on the channel on August 12th, 2021 at 8pm EST. An encore presentation will then air on August 14th, 2021 (3 TIMES at 1am, 4:30pm, and 8pm EST).
Directed and choreographed by the late
Bob Fosse, LIZA WITH A “Z” was filmed at Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre in 1972. It’s a full scale variety concert of Liza Minelli in her triumphant glory after having just won the Oscar for her performance in
Cabaret that same year. Along with songs from that musical, it also features material specifically written for her by
John Kander and
Fred Ebb. Accompanied by a full orchestra and backed up by dancers and singers, notable songs include the title song, YES, GOD BLESS THE CHILD, I GOTCHA, SON OF A PREACHER MAN, RING THEM BELLS, and more.
It originally aired on
NBC back in September 1972 where it earned rave reviews and huge ratings. It went to be nominated for 8
Emmy Awards. It took home 4 including OUTSTANDING SINGLE PROGRAM.
This special would not be released on Video and DVD till 1999.
Tune in and celebrate the legacy of one of the most iconic entertainers of them all.

THRILLIFYING NEWS: Get ready to once again REJOICIFY & have THE CHANCE TO FLY at
WICKED is set to once again DEFY GRAVITY here in America next week. The show’s ongoing 2nd National Tour (better known as THE MUNCHKINLAND TOUR COMPANY) will be the 1st Broadway tour to be performed in 17 months since being abruptly shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

WICKED’s National Tour is scheduled to relaunch beginning August 3rd, 2021 for a month long run deep in the heart of Dallas, TX. From there, it will be traveling to the following cities across North America that have been rescheduled throughout 2022 including….

Cincinnati, OH

With the National Tour of WICKED reopening, it also marks as the 2nd original production replica returning. Currently,
Wicked is being performed overseas with its Korea company (with the show performed in Korean).
Along with the tour, the Broadway production is set to reopen at the Gershwin Theatre on September 14th, 2021. Meanwhile, the London company is set to reopen the next day on September 15th, 2021 at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

AND IN THIS LABRYRINTH WHERE NIGHT IS BLIND, he’s back!!! For the first time after 16 months of being shutdown, THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT returns. The legendary original inaugural production of
Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s Award winning phenomenon
The Phantom of the Opera officially begins re-haunting London’s West End this evening at its newly updated longtime home at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
With PHANTOM’s return to London’s West End this evening, it will be a full brand new physical production while still playing tribute to its late original head creators.
The show will be directed by Seth Sklar-Heyn staying true to the original vision of the late & great Hal Prince,
choreography will be done by Chrissie Cartwright recreated and updated still playing tribute to the movement of the late and legendary
Gillian Lynne,
Matt Kinley updating the set and Jill Parker doing the costumes while still honoring the original visual presentation by the late
Maria Bjornson.
Other changes to the show’s London production will include the Orchestra now reduced to now 14 musicians in the pit instead of its traditional 27.
This evening is truly going to be the ultimate MASQUERADE with ongoing COVID-19 safety precautions as we welcome PHANTOM home to where it all began.
Other upcoming productions of this timeless show coming will include the return of our New York company set to resume performances at Broadway’s Majestic Theatre beginning September 14th, 2021 along with new companies around the world.
