NYBT’s head founder, creator, and tour guide Amada Anderson took part on a brand new podcast which was released yesterday…. It’s entitled IT’S HAPPENIN’ IN THE HAVEN. She shares her inspirational and motivational story coming to the Big Apple, her early beginnings, and the inspiration how she founded us…… New York Broadway Tours. They also talk about how she’s been able to balance being a tour guide, motherhood, and keeping herself active throughout the pandemic
In addition to us, Amada also started a 2nd Tour guide company up in Florida during the pandemic entitled Winter Haven Food Tours.
Amada will continue to rotate doing BOTH tours here in the Big Apple and in Florida.

ON THE MARQUEE: IT’S GOOD TO SEE THEM, ISN’T IT?!!! If you enjoyed last night’s televised PBS concert special celebrating the music of WICKED, you have to truly be THRILLIFIED and experience the magic of his powerful story right before your eyes.
One of our WONDERFUL friends was so kind enough to let us share these SWANKIFIED updated photos of the front of house breezeway outside of WICKED’s longtime home at the Gershwin Theatre. It features full company photos of the show in action including its current and history making comeback WITCHES….
Lindsay Heather Pearce as the smart, fiery, misunderstood, and not-so “Wicked Witch of the West” herself “Elphaba”

Ginna Claire Mason as the blonde, bubbly, and POPULAR “Good Witch” herself “Glinda”.

We also get a look at the Gershwin’s beautiful lobby all decked out and transporting us all into THE MERRY OLD LAND OF OZ.
The Award winning smash hit phenomenon WICKED to once again DEFY GRAVITY at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre….FOR GOOD…. on September 14th, 2021. It comes at a perfect time as the show prepares to celebrate its 18th Anniversary on the Great Bright Way this October.

HADESTOWN announces casting for both its Broadway return and its all new North American National Tour

ALL ABOARD! Get ready to once again take the ROAD TO HELL! Casting for both the return of the Broadway production plus the upcoming North American Tour of the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit Hadestown has officially been announced. Under the direction of Rachel Chavkin, original cast members expecting to return to the New York company will include…..
Reeve Carney as “Orepheus”,
2 time Tony and Olivier nominee Eva Noblezada as “Eurydice”,
The legendary André De Shields in his Tony winning performance as “Hermes”,
and
Tony nominee Amber Gray as “Persephone”,
The show’s OG Villian Tony nominee Patrick Page is also expecting to return but not till later on. The celebrate KING OF VILLIANS is currently working on a film and will return to HADESTOWN beginning November 2nd, 2021.
When the show officially re-opens on Broadway early this Fall, the role of the wicked “Hades” will be played temporary by another Broadway great no stranger to playing bad guys himself…. Tony Award nominee Tom Hewitt (Broadway’s Rocky Horror, The Lion King, Dracula, Peter Pan, and Chicago).
Additional casting will include original cast member Jewelle Blackman, original swing Jessie Shelton, and newcomer cast member Mariand Torres as “The Fates”. Sadly with this announcement, it was revealed that the original 2 “Fates” themselves Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer and Kay Trinidad had both departed the production.
Plus a full Ensemble!!
Meanwhile for HADESTOWN’s upcoming National Tour, the cast that will be bringing this powerful show all across North America will consist of….
Drama Desk nominee Nicholas Barasch (Broadway’s 2009 revival of West Side Story along with the Roundabout Theatre Company revivals of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and She Loves Me) as “Orpheus”,
Morgan Siobhan Green (Broadway’s Be More Chill) as “Eurydice”,
Tony winner Levi Kreis (Broadway’s Million Dollar Quartet and last seen in Violet) as “Hermes”,
HADESTOWN original cast member Kimberly Marable (who also appeared in Broadway’s The Lion King) will play “Persephone” full time after previously understudying the role in the Broadway production,
Olivier nominee Kevyn Morrow (London’s Ragtime and Broadway’s recent revival of The Color Purple, Bandstand, and previously in Moulin Rouge) as “Hades”,
Belén Moyano, Bex Odorisio, and Shea Renne will be the touring “Fates”,
and
a Full Ensemble.

The Broadway production of HADESTOWN is set to reopen at the Walter Kerr Theatre starting September 2nd, 2021. Meanwhile, the show’s National Tour will have a preview week long run in Greenville, SC starting October 5th, 2021. It will have its official Opening launch on October 13th, 2021 for a 4 week run in our nation’s Capitol in Washington D.C.. From there, it will be coming to the following cities across North America…..

SUGAR, BUTTER, REUNION….. RE-OPENING UP!!! Earlier this week, the cast of the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit Waitress reunited for the first time in over 17 months as they begin rehearsals for the upcoming limited engagement Broadway revival next month.
Get ready for a powerful and emotional performance as the show’s composer and leading lady Sara Bareilles, Charity Angél Dawson, Caitlin Houlahan, and the cast gather around at their first reunion table read performing the show’s opening song itself that sets the mood of Broadway’s return….. OPENING UP!!!
WAITRESS will play a strictly limited engagement at Broadway’s Ethel Barrymore Theatre starting September 2nd, 2021 and will run through January 9th, 2022.
PLEASE NOTE: Bareilles will stay with the production as “Jenna” through October 17th, 2021. Announcements for who will take over afterwards will be revealed at a later time.

DELICIOUS NEWS: Time to cut up a piece of THE FAMILY IS REUNITING PIE!!! Casting has been announced for the upcoming limited Broadway revival of the Tony and Grammy nominated smash hit Waitress this Fall. You can expect some familiar notable faces back at the Diner.
Under the direction of Diane Paulus and joining the show’s creator Sara Bareilles taking over the role of pregnant pie maker “Jenna Hunterson” will include original cast members….
Drew Gehling as the hottest doctor in town himself “Dr. Pomatter”,
Tony nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (who will take a temporary leave of absence from the upcoming gender-swap revival of Company) as the bright-eyed dramatic, odd, passionate, romantic, and magical “Ogie”,
Eric Anderson as The Diner’s head manager “Cal”,
and
Dakin Matthews as the loving and caring diner owner “Old Joe”.
The cast will also feature some familiar WAITRESS alumni including…
Charity Angél Dawson (taking a leave of absence from Mrs. Doubtfire: The Musical) as everyone’s favorite sassy waitress herself “Becky”,
Caitlin Houlahan (who will take a leave of absence from appearing in Girl From The North Country) as the lovable, awkward, and quirky waitress “Dawn”,
and
Bareilles’ real life boyfriend Joe Tippett as the drunk, alcoholic, and abusive “Earl”.
Plus a full Ensemble.
Additional casting for the return of Waitress will be announced later.
With Fitzgerald, Dawson, Houlahan, and some of the Ensemble also currently on board with other new Broadway shows, no details have been said on whether their timings with WAITRESS will be limited.
Meanwhile for Bareilles, she is expecting to star as “Jenna” through October 17th, 2021. Casting for who will take over the role will be announced soon.
WAITRESS returns to Broadway for a DELICIOUS limited engagement at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. It will run September 2nd, 2021 through January 9th, 2022.

Australian company of JAGGED LITTLE PILL postponed; Delta Variant & COVID-19 cases rise

YOU OUGHTA KNOW: Due to the COVID-19 / Delta Variant cases rising again, the upcoming Australian production of Tony Award nominated and Grammy winning smash hit Alanis Morissette‘s Jagged Little Pill has sadly been postponed till further notice. The creative team expressed their broken hearts with this rough decision. However, their spirits are high for the TBD rescheduled performances as soon as its safe.
The Australian company was set to debut this upcoming September 2021 in Sydney playing the Theatre Royal Sydney.
Meanwhile for anyone wanting to see JAGGED LITTLE PILL, the Broadway production is still expecting to relaunch October 21st, 2021 at the Broadhurst Theatre.
