The audience and the entire Broadway company of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical got the thrill of their life when the real Carole King made a surprise appearance at the curtain call following a recent performance at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. She gave a speech before joining current leading lady Melissa Benoist and the cast in an Encore performance of King’s signature song I FEEL THE EARTH MOVE. How amazing is this?!
We really felt the earth move last night when Carole King surprised Melissa Benoist and the cast of BEAUTIFUL on stage!

You can see Melissa Benoist FEEL THE EARTH MOVE 8 times a week in BEAUTIFUL on Broadway. She begins her run tomorrow and play a limited run through August 4th, 2018.
The show’s current and longtime leading lady Chilina Kennedy will take her final bow tonight before leaving to appear in the new musical THIS AIN’T NO DISCO at Atlantic Theater Company this summer. Kennedy however is set to return to BEAUTIFUL in August (following Benoist’s run).

BREAKING NEWS: Melissa Benoist (known on TV as “Marley Rose” on Glee and the title role on Supergirl) is set to make her long awaited Broadway Debut as the new leading lady of the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit Beautiful – The Carole King Musical.
From June 7th through August 4th, 2018, Benoist will be taking over the starring role of the Grammy winning singer/songwriter “Carole King” at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
The show’s long running leading lady Chilina Kennedy (who just played her 1,000th performance as “Carole” earlier this year) will be taking another full summer leave of absence from the production. She will be taking her final bow the week of June 3rd, 2018. However, Kennedy will be returning to the show in August.

BREAKING NEWS: Jessica Keenan Wynn is set to return to the Broadway company of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical tonight as acclaimed singer/songwriter “Cynthia Weil” at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
Wynn returns to the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit musical following spending this past Fall (and the remainder of 2017) filming the upcoming movie musical sequel Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again (which Wynn will be appearing as the younger version of Christine Baranski’s role “Tanya”) set to be released in Theaters everywhere on July 20th, 2018.
During Wynn’s leave of absence in BEAUTIFUL for filming, the role of “Cynthia Weil” was played by Newsies and WICKED The Musical favorite Kara Lindsay (who took her final bow on New Year’s Eve).
