BREAKING NEWS: FOX’s upcoming live televised presentation of Rent has officially set it’s air date. You will have to wait till Sunday, January 27th, 2019 (at 7PM ET live/PT tape-delayed).
This version of Jonathan Larson’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning musical about a group of struggling artists in New York City’s East Village will mark as the 3rd time it has ever been captured on film. The original film version was released in 2005 and starred majority of the original Broadway cast. In addition, the show’s historical 5,123rd and final Broadway performance at the Nederlander Theatre was captured and released in Movie Theaters for a limited run in 2008. Both versions are available on DVD.

Get ready to take ONE JUMP AHEAD and discover A WHOLE NEW WORLD in an all new way as Disney’s upcoming live action version of Aladdin is set for a Theatrical release on May 24th, 2019.
The cast of the new live action film will star…
Mena Massoud the title role,
Naomi Scott as “Princess Jasmine”,
Will Smith as “The Genie”,
Marwan Kenzari as “Jafar”,
Homeland actor Navid Negahban as “The Sultan”,
and Tony nominee Billy Magnussen as “Prince Anders” (a new character written for the film).
The film will also feature the beloved Oscar winning songs we all know from the 1991 Animated film and the Broadway Musical by Alan Menken, Sir Tim Rice (Official), and the late Howard Ashman plus some additional new songs written for the film by Oscar and Tony winning duo Pasek and Paul.

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN…indeed. Original Newsies leading lady and WICKED The Musical favorite Kara Lindsay is set to join the Broadway cast of Beautiful – The Carole King Musical next week at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. From September 12th, 2017 for a limited run till New Year’s Eve (December 31st, 2017), Lindsay will be taking on the role of acclaimed singer/songwritter “Cynthia Weil”. The role is temporary currently played by understudy Sara King who was taking over from Jessica Keenan Wynn who departed last month to go film the upcoming musical sequel to MAMMA MIA!.
In addition, Chilina Kennedy (who took a summer hiatus from the Broadway cast to join the touring cast for the Toronto engagement) is set to return to Broadway cast in the lead role of Grammy winning singer / songwritter “Carole King” on the very same day as Lindsay. The show’s current leading lady Abby Mueller (original touring “Carole” and sister of the show’s original Tony winning “Carole” Jessie Mueller) will play her final performance this Sunday, September 10th, 2017.

BREAKING NEWS: Tony winner Donna Murphy set to depart the Tony winning revival of Hello, Dolly on Broadway the beginning of this year. The actress (who alternates the title role every Tuesday night from this year’s Tony winner Bette Midler) will play her final performance at the Shubert Theatre on January 9th, 2018.
As previously announced, Tony winners Midler as well as David Hyde Pierce will both depart on January 14th, 2018.
Starting January 20th, 2018, Tony winner Bernadette Peters (who will be doing ALL 8 SHOWS A WEEK) and acclaimed stage and screen favorite Victor Garber will begin performances as the new “Dolly Levi” and “Horace Vandergelder”.

FETCH NEWS!!! Mean Girls on Broadway has found a Broadway home and date set for the start of it’s run. The show (based on the acclaimed 2004 Paramount film of the same name) is set to play Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre (currently home of Groundhog Day Musical now through September 17th, 2017). Previews begin March 12th, 2018 and Opening Night set for April 8th, 2018.
The show is gearing up for it’s world premiere out of town tryout at the National Theatre in Washington DC this Fall. It will run there from October 31st, 2017 through December 3rd, 2017.
MEAN GIRLS features a book by the film’s original screenwriter and co-star Tina Fey, music by Fey’s husband Jeff Richmond, lyrics by Tony nominated composer Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde), and direction and choreography by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw (Aladdin – The Musical, The Book of Mormon on Broadway, Something Rotten The Musical, and numerous acclaimed smash hit musical comedies).
The cast will be led by an exciting all star cast including….
