LET'S DANCE, LET'S SHOUT, SHAKE YOUR BODY DOWN TO THE GROUND!! As previously announced, a bio jukebox musical about Michael Jackson has been in development. It has just been announced today that the new musical entitled DON'T STOP 'TILL YOU GET ENOUGH will have its world Premiere in Chicago this Fall 2019 and then will hit Broadway in 2020.
DON'T STOP 'TILL YOU GET ENOUGH follows the story of Michael Jackson on his rise to fame becoming The King of Pop. It also explores his dark times including his controversial dramas and personal issues that led up to his 2009 death. It will feature some of Jackson's greatest # 1 hits including THRILLER, SMOOTH CRIMINAL, BEAT IT, THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL, DON'T STOP TILL YOU GET ENOUGH, BAD, and more.
Produced by the The Michael Jackson Estate and Columbia Live Stage, the show will feature…
a book by 2 time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage,
direction and choreography by Tony winner
Christopher Wheeldon,
and of course all the beloved songs from THE KING OF POP himself.
The Chicago World Premiere tryout of DON'T STOP 'TILL YOU GET ENOUGH will run at the newly renamed James M. Nederlander Theatre (formerly known as the Oriental Theatre in Chicago) on October 29th through December 1st, 2019.
Casting has not been announced yet, In addition, no word has been also been made for the theater and start time for the show's 2020 Broadway Debut.
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a transfer of the acclaimed revue THRILLER LIVE (recreating all of Michael Jackson's choreography, videos, and performances on stage) which is still playing in London's West End for the past 10 years.

HEART DON’T FAIL THEM NOW… Tomorrow night, Broadway will be experiencing one of the most talked about duets of a lifetime. At the curtain call of tomorrow night’s performance of the smash hit Anastasia The Musical, fans will be in for a very special treat on the stage of the Broadhurst Theatre. A live duet of the Oscar nominated and the musical’s theme song JOURNEY TO THE PAST. It will be sung by the 2 ladies who made the role of “Anya” iconic….
Christy Altomare (the original and current Broadway “Anya”)
and
Liz Callaway (the original singing voice of “Anya” from the 1997 Animated film).
Altomare and Callaway previously performed the duet of JOURNEY TO THE PAST this past June at the Broadway Princess Party concert at Feinstein?s/54 Below which went viral on social media. Because the duet got huge and big following, both performers met up in a recording studio earlier this summer to record the duet as a single which will be available to download on iTunes and Spotify beginning September 28th, 2018. A music video will be released as well.
FUN FACT: Christy Altomare has idolized Liz Callaway since she was a very young girl. Her first Broadway show was the original production of Cats the Musical with Callaway playing the role of “Grizabella The Glamour Cat”. A few weeks later, Altomare fell in love with Callaway even more when she saw the original 1997 Animated film version of ANASTASIA in the Movie Theaters and it became her go-to song ever since. In addition, during her 2012 Broadway debut as “Sophie” in MAMMA MIA!, Altomare had Callaway’s dressing room. FULL CIRCLE!!!

BREAKING NEWS: HERE THEY DO AGAIN ON THEIR OWN!!! In celebration of it’s 10th Anniversary of it’s Broadway debut, the Tony nominated smash hit Rock of Ages will embark on an all new 10th Anniversary Tour this Fall 2018.
The jukebox musical comedy features music from some of your favorite 80’s punk rock artists from Journey, Poison, Twisted Sister, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, and much more. It tells the romantic story of a SMALL DOWN GIRL and a CITY BOY who fall in love in LA in 1987.
ROCK OF AGES originally premiered at the King King club in Hollywood back in 2005 before transferring a year later to the Vanguard Hollywood, and a short run at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The show then made it’s way to the Big Apple in 2008 with an Off Broadway run at New World Stages. Due to the success of it’s Off Broadway run, the show made it’s way to Broadway another year later playing the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (and then later the Helen Hayes Theatre) where it played a total of 2,350 performances on Broadway. It was nominated for 5 Tony Awards in 2009 including Best Musical but lost all of the categories. Following it’s Broadway success, the show went on to become an International hit and an acclaimed film that was released in 2012.

We at New York Broadway Tours give so much credit to all those actors having to learn and cover multiple tracks in the show all at the same time (and some of them also cover several principal roles too).
