Mallory Bechtel Will Play Zoe Murphy in DEAR EVAN HANSEN

BREAKING NEWS: The Broadway company of Dear Evan Hansen has found a new leading lady. It has just been announced that newcomer Mallory Bechtel (an 18 year old recent High School Graduate from Houston, Texas) will make her Broadway Debut in the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit musical taking over the role of the love interest “Zoe Murphy” starting July 31st, 2018 at the Music Box Theatre.

Original cast member Laura Dreyfuss (who has been with the show’s road to Broadway since the very beginning) will sing one final REQUIUM this Sunday night, July 15th, 2018 (which will also be a special benefit performance for The Actors Fund).

The weeks following Dreyfuss’ July 15th departure and Bechtel’s July 31st start date (from July 17th – 29th, 2018), the role of “Zoe Murphy” will be played by understudy Olivia Puckett.

Congratulations to Mallory on landing your Broadway Debut fresh off of graduating High School. Break a leg!!

Christiane Noll and Aaron Lazar to Sing a Requiem as DEAR EVAN HANSEN Tour’s Murphy Parents

BREAKING NEWS: The Murphy Parents of the all new upcoming National Tour of the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit Dear Evan Hansen have been found.

Tony nominee Christiane Noll (Broadway’s original Jekyll & Hyde The Musical, Chaplin The Musical, and the recent revival of RAGTIME on Broadway) will play “Cynthia Murphy”

and

Acclaimed Broadway performer Aaron Lazar (Broadway’s The Light in the Piazza, the first Broadway revival of Les Mis?rables US, Mamma Mia!, and The Last Ship) will play “Larry Murphy”.

Noll and Lazar join an exciting lineup consisting of Ben Ross as the title role, Broadway veteran Jessica Phillips as “Heidi Hansen”, newcomer Jared Goldsmith as “Jared Kleinman”, and additional newcomer Phoebe Koyabe as “Alana Beck”.

No word has been announced on who will play The Murphy Siblings “Zoe” (the love interest) and “Connor” (the rebellious outcast).

The National Tour of DEAR EVAN HANSEN is set to launch this September 2018 in Denver before traveling to over 50 cities all across North America.

Donna Murphy to Return to Broadway?s Hello, Dolly! | Playbill

BREAKING NEWS: 2 time Tony winner Donna Murphy is set to return to the Tony winning revival of Hello, Dolly on Broadway at the Shubert Theatre this summer for its final 6 weeks of its New York run. Like she did when the production opened, Murphy will play the title role once a week at the Shubert Theatre while the production’s Tony winning leading lady Bette Midler (as previously announced returns July 17th, 2018) will play 6 performances a week.

For this engagement, Donna Murphy will perform all Sunday mattinae performances (starting July 22nd, 2018). Prior to the production’s August 25th, 2018 final Broadway performance, Murphy will take her final bow as “Dolly Levi” on August 20th, 2018.

In addition to Donna Murphy and Bette Midler, original leading man Tony winner David Hyde-Pierce will also be returning (the same day as Midler) for the final 6 weeks in the role of “Horace Vandergelder”.

Ben Platt Will Lead New Ryan Murphy Series- THE POLITICIAN; Barbra Streisand in Talks to Co-Star

BREAKING NEWS: Tony Award winner Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen, The Book of Mormon on Broadway, and Pitch Perfect) is making his way to the small screen as the star of the upcoming new Netflix original comedy THE POLITICIAN (created by Glee’s creators Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Ryan Murphy).

In addition, Gwyneth Paltrow and the legendary Barbra Streisand are eyeing possible plans of joining this exciting all star cast.

Filming is expecting to begin this Summer 2018.

Lea Michele Says She’s Ready To Do FUNNY GIRL on Broadway; Ryan Murphy No Longer Holds Rights


Glee and Broadway favorite Lea Michele is still eyeing interest of starring as “Fanny Brice” in the first major Broadway revival of Funny Girl despite Glee creator Ryan Murphy no longer having the rights.

Michele is no stranger to FUNNY GIRL after singing majority of the songs from the show on GLEE and of course her GLEE character “Rachel Berry” made her Broadway debut in the fictional Broadway revival on the show

Even though she’s been busy with her 3rd major TV show The Mayor, Lea is eyeing a long awaited return to Broadway. She was last seen on there 10 years ago with her breakout performance as “Wendla” in the original production of Spring Awakening Broadway.
