LUMOS!!!! Hogwarts is back in session!!! It has just been announced that the Award winning smash hit
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set to reopen on the Great Bright Way later this Fall. The magic will resume at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre beginning November 16th, 2021.
However, there has been a little change for the production when it returns….. A REDUCIO charm has been placed on the Wizarding World. The play will now be performed as 1 PART instead of its usual 2. It will be a complete brand new updated version reimagined for audiences to experience the full show 8 times a week.
Along with the Broadway company, the show’s sit-down production in San Francisco is set to launch January 11th, 2022 at the Curran Theatre. From there, the new Canadian production is set to bring that Live Theater magic to Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre beginning in May of 2022. Both San Francisco and Toronto will also be doing the show in 1 PART.
The only companies that will still be doing the show in 2 PARTS is the show’s inaugural production in London’s West End (set to reopen at the Palace Theatre on October 14th, 2021), Hamburg, Germany (set to relaunch its previews on December 1st, 2021), and the show’s ongoing Australian company in Australia.

Harry Connick Jr is set to join the cast of
NBC‘s upcoming live televised presentation of the legendary
Annie this Holiday season. The legendary Jazz and Broadway star will take on the role of NYC’s legendary depression billionaire “Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks”.
For Connick Jr. playing this iconic role is a dream come true. He steps into the shoes of the unforgettable talents that have brought this role to life both on stage and screen. “Warbucks” is a beloved character that of course becomes the stepfather of “Annie”. The role was originated on Broadway by Reid Shelton. It has later been done so well by Conrad John Schuck (who played the role the longest on Broadway and on tour across America), Harve Presnell, Rhodes Reason,
Anthony Warlow, Albert Finney (in the 1982 film),
Victor Garber (the 1999 TV movie), and more.
Connick Jr joins the previously announced Oscar and Emmy nominee
Taraji P. Henson who will take on the role of the wicked “Miss Hannigan”. The new live production is expecting to star a newcomer performer taking on the titular role of the spunky red-headed orphan that will be found through a virtual nationwide casting call.
Additional casting will be announced soon.
Rehearsals for the new live production begin this Fall 2021.
Annie Live is set for December 2nd, 2021 on NBC. It promises to show the world that THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMORROW. It’s going to be the ultimate celebration of the return of Live Musicals with everything making its way back to normal.

Broadway is back!!! However, there are some people that are NOT happy about this history making event. Tonight’s Opening Night of the legendary
Bruce Springsteen‘s ENCORE engagement of his acclaimed acoustic solo show SPRINGSTEEN ON BROADWAY was met with a demonstration outside the legendary St. James Theatre. The protest featured a group of anti-vaxxers boycotting THE BOSS following news of this engagement being made up of audience members who have taken the COVID-19 vaccination only. The angry protests considered it as segregation and demanding for equal rights.
As previously mentioned from a FAQ page via the
Jujamcyn Theaters Organization (who owns the St. James Theatre), Audience members need to be fully vaccinated showing either an FDA or WHO approved vaccine in order to attend…and must show proof of vaccination at their time of entry into the theatre with their valid ticket.
People who were able to get inside to see Bruce Springsteen reacted in horror or just laughed ignoring the drama.
SPRINGSTEEN ON BROADWAY will inspire audiences to once again feel BORN TO RUN now through September 4th, 2021.
