The show had a triumphant sold out World Premiere Off-Broadway run at
Playwrights Horizons in the Spring of 2019. It was well praised by critics and Theatergoers everywhere.
In addition, the show is already getting a lot of Theater Glory early during the time of Quarantine winning various Awards including the

BREAKING NEWS: Due to doctors orders for vocal rest, Tony nominee and Grammy winner
Sara Bareilles will NOT be performing at tonight’s performance of the limited engagement Broadway revival of
Waitress. The BRAVE singer-songwriter took to her Instagram to share a video saying the last few days she’s been exhausted working on something very special for the show plus performing 8 times a week. With all of this, her vocal stamina has been very fatigued. Bareilles also mentioned its NOT related to COVID-19.
While Sara Bareilles rests tonight, we are so excited to announce that Ensemble member and original cast member Stephanie Torns will once again don the blue uniform and white apron making those delicious pies as “Jenna Hunterson” on the stage tonight of the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Torns (who also appeared on Broadway as “Elphaba” in
WICKED) has been considered as one of the fan favorite “Jenna’s” throughout WAITRESS’ original run. She mainly performed the role during the interims whenever there was a cast change.
Get better Sara!! Health comes first.
Break a leg Stephanie “Tornsy” Torns!!!
