Dear Theater Lovers, Today is going to be a bittersweet and emotional day as . Tony

Dear Theater Lovers,

Today is going to be a bittersweet and emotional day as . Tony nominee Mike Faist departs the cast of the Tony and Grammy winning smash hit Dear Evan Hansen.

The actor who created the role of the rebellious drug dealing teenage outcast turned dead “Connor Murphy” has been with the Pasek and Paul since the very beginning of it’s early workshops. He was part of the show’s world premiere in Washington DC at Arena Stage back in 2015 and the Off Broadway run at Second Stage Theater back in 2016 before officially bringing the show to Broadway in 2017 earning him rave reviews and a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Nothing has been said on what is next for Mike but whatever it is, we know he?s going to go and do many more successful things in Theater, Film, and TV.

Beginning this Tuesday night, May 15th, 2018 at the Music Box Theatre, Alex Boniello (last seen in his Broadway Debut as the voice of “Mortiz Steifel” in the Deaf West Theatre revival of Spring Awakening Broadway) takes over the role of “Connor Murphy”.

With Mike Faist leaving, it marks 3 of the original cast of Dear Evan Hansen gone….

The original lead Ben Platt (who won the Tony for playing the title role in the show) left this past November 2017. The role of “Evan” has been done by Noah Galvin (who departed this past February ) and currently Taylor Trensch.

Kristolyn Lloyd who plays the role of the smart, nerdy, and brainiac “Alana Beck” departed the show this past March. The role is currently being played by Phoenix Best.

Will Roland who plays the scene stealing nerd “Jared Kleinman” is set to depart on June 10th, 2018 to go do the Off Broadway premiere of Be More Chill. No word has been announced on Roland’s replacement.

The remaining original cast members still with the show right now along with Roland through his June departure are ..

Tony Award winner Rachel Bay Jones who plays the title character’s mother ?Heidi Hansen?,

Glee favorite Laura Dreyfuss who plays Evan’s love interest and Connor’s sister ?Zoe Murphy?,

Michael Parks play’s Zoe and Connor’s Father “Larry Murphy”,

and Jennifer Laura Thompson who plays Zoe and Connor’s Mother ?Cynthia Murphy?.

The additional original cast members are expecting to leave really soon as well. No replacements have been announced for them either.

Happy Trails and Congrats on a triumphant long journey Mike!!

Welcome and Break a leg Alex!!!

Today is a very bittersweet and emotional day for the company of Anastasia The Musica

Today is a very bittersweet and emotional day for the company of Anastasia The Musical as another 2 of it’s original cast members take their final bows this afternoon at the Broadhurst Theatre… We are talking about Derek Klena and Caroline O’Connor.

They may be leaving THE LAND OF YESTERDAY but no worries because both talents have 2 exciting gigs coming up. Klena will be taking part in the world premiere of Alanis Morissette’s JAGGED LITTLE PILL (set to open at Cambridge’s American Repertory Theater this May) and O’Conner will be starring in an upcoming revival of Kander & Ebb’s musical THE RINK (opening in London’s Southwark Playhouse also in May).

Starting this Tuesday night, March 27th, 2018, ANASTASIA Ensemble member Zach Adkins will graduate into becoming a fulltime leading man as he succeeds Klena in the role of the conman turned modern day Prince Charming “Dmitry”. In addition, stage and screen legend Vicki Lewis will succeed O’Connor in the scene stealing role of the wise cracking Countess ?Lily Malevsky-Malevitch? (formerly known from the 1997 Animated film as ?Sophie?).

Happy Trails to Derek and Caroline!! You will be missed.
Welcome and Break legs to Zach and Vicky! Can’t wait.

This is not Miranda’s first time reprising a role he wrote for himself on the Island other than NYC.
