DON’T YOU MESS AROUND…. NO, NO, NO!!! It has just been announced that iconic legendary married rock stars Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo are currently joining forces to create an updated musical adaptation of William Shakespeare‘s classic play Romeo and Juliet for Broadway!!! The show entitled INVINSIBLE brings the classic tale of the star-crossed lovers to the 21st century.
Set present day in war-torn metropolis of Verona as the newly elected “Chancellor Paris” vows to destroy the progressive resistance and return the city to its traditional roots. The show itself will be a jukebox musical featuring majority of Benatar and Giraldo’s rock anthems plus new songs. You can expect to hear all the greats from HEARTBREAKER, WE BELONG, HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT, LOVE IS BATTLEFIELD, and more.
Along with Benetar and Giraldo’s catalog, the show will include a full incredible creative team including….
a book by Bradley Bredeweg,
direction by Scott Schwartz (The Prince Of Egypt),
choreography by Lauren Yalango-Grant,
and so much more.
An industrial reading of INVINCIBLE is set for November 10th-12, 2021 in Los Angeles, CA.

BREAKING NEWS: THE ROOTS’ Black Thought to debut new Musical BLACK NO MORE Off Broadway this Winter 2022!!!

BREAKING NEWS: Grammy winner Tariq Trotter (a.k.a. Black Thought) is set to make his Musical Theater debut next month. The Roots founder and acclaimed musician has been composing and set to star in a musical adaptation of the best selling 1931 novel BLACK NO MORE.
The production will make its WORLD PREMIERE Debut Off Broadway at The Pershing Square Signature Center’s Irene Diamond Stage for a limited engagement from January 11th February 27th, 2022.
Under the direction of Scott Elliot and choreographed by Tony winner Bill T. Jones (Broadway’s original Spring Awakening and Fela), BLACK NO MORE takes places during the Harlem Renaissance. The story follows a man who attempts to use a mysterious machine that guarantees to “solve the American race problem”—by turning Black people white. Along with Trotter’s score, the show will also feature a book by Oscar winner John Ridley (12 Years a Slave).

BREAKING NEWS: San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre is set to debut a brand new musical inspired by the life of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Tony winner Graciela Daniele this Fall. The show will be a new musical entitled THE GARDENS OF ANUNCIA is set to run from September 10th, 2021 through October 17th, 2021.
To introduce everyone to this exciting new musical, THE GARDENS OF ANUNCIA is loosely based on the life of Graciela Daniele. It tells the story of a woman named “Anuncia” who working on her garden in her country house. Along the way, she reflects on her life, looking back on her girlhood in Juan Perón’s Argentina and paying homage to the family of women whose sacrifices allowed her to become an artist. The show is a celebration of women reveling in the joys of being alive.
The show features an original score and book by Tony Award nominee Michael John LaChiusa (Hello Again, Marie Christine, The Wild Party, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, See What I Wanna See, and Rain).
Graciela Daniele will both direct and choreograph the production.

PASS OVER becomes first Broadway show to open in 17 months starting week; First performance to include Post-Show Block Party

BREAKING NEWS: Next week marks a history making event as Lincoln Center Theater / LCT3‘s critically acclaimed production of Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu’s Pass Over becomes the first ON Broadway show to open in 17 months. With this exciting time, it calls for a celebration!!!!
Following next week’s first preview performance, PASS OVER will be hosting a post-show BLOCK PARTY outside the show’s home at the August Wilson Theatre. West 52nd Street between 8th Avenue and Broadway will be shutdown from 8pm-11am. The party is FREE!!! As soon as the 90 minute play performance, Theatergoers and fans will get to party it up with the company. There will be Live Music by S.N.O.B. (DJ Duggz, DJ Ari Grooves and Emily McGill). In addition, it will also have special to-go menus for purchase from the block’s vendors including Haswell Green’s, Victor’s Cafe, and the M Social Hotel.
PASS OVER begins previews next Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 at the August Wilson Theatre. The official Opening Night is set for September 20th, 2021 and will run through October 10th, 2021.
