BEHOLD! New York City will be ringing in the holiday season in the way it’s well known for once again. It is that time to HAUL OUT THE HOLLY, PUT UP THE TREE BEFORE OUR SPIRIT FALLS AGAIN. When we talk about trees, we’re not mentioning any tree….. it’s the world famous
Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree which has become a National Treasure to the Big Apple every year. We are so enthusiastic to announce that the 2021 has been found and making its way here.
The 2021 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has been found from Maryland. It is a 79-foot-tall Norway Spruce. It was donated this year by a family from the town of Elkton. When it gets here to the city, it will be all beautifully decked out with so much holiday decorations including over 50,000 twinkling lights, and that famous crystal star made by
SWAROVSKI.
That Tree will have that famous TIMBER chop on November 11th, 2021. It will make its way onto a truck and traveling 140 miles here to New York City. It will arrive on the Plaza on November 13th, 2021.
As holiday tradition of course,
NBC will have its annual Live CHRISTMAS IN ROCKEFELLER CENTER Tree Lighting ceremony special the week after Thanksgiving. This year’s edition is set to air live on December 1st, 2021. Along with the lighting, it is expecting to feature some of the biggest names in the worlds of Music, Film, TV, and of course our Broadway scene performing. That’s not all, the ceremony is expecting to welcome back its thousands of screaming fans gather outside Plaza this year. No official details have been made on some of the tweaks will be done since we’re still coping with COVID-19 restrictions.
Last year’s edition of CHRISTMAS IN ROCKEFELLER did NOT have its tradition crowds due to the strict safety protocols. No one was allowed to gather. At the same time for anyone who wanted to see the tree up close, New York City Mayor
Bill de Blasio organized a safe way for people who were in the city to see the tree up close but very briefly. All you had to do was make a reservation, purchase a ticket, take your photo, and go…. all while social distancing and wearing your face masks.
No details were made on how the plans for tourists to see the tree will be done this year.
Who is excited for the tree?
